In Adele Baker’s backyard on Brule Street in Caspian, this doe dropped her fawn on the cool morning of June 1. Only a few hours old, the little babe snuggled close to mom and then wobbled to its feet. After a few steps it found its legs before lying back down on the lawn. A few reports have been made of deer giving birth in backyard. Remember, the mother’s usually not far away and will leave their young unattended for hours at a time.
