IRON RIVER—The Camp Gibbs Recreation Area encourages young hunters to participate in the summer youth trap shooting program, sponsored by the Hiawatha Gun Club and Wildlife Unlimited of Iron County.

Beginning shooters can practice in the open shoot every Wednesday evening during July and August. Youth, women and other new shooters are encouraged to join in, beginning at 6 p.m. each Wednesday night, weather permitting.

Volunteers will be on hand to assist. Equipment and ammunition is provided.

The first beginners shoot will be held on July 1. For more information, contact Larry Pifke at 265-3878. Camp Gibbs Recreation Area is located at 129 W. Camp Gibbs Road,  off of Gibbs City Road in Iron River Township.
