The predator hunt’s headquarters will be at Camp Gibbs Recreation Area west of Iron River along Gibbs City Road.
A mandatory registration will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, at which time participants will be presented with all rules concerning the hunt. Hunting can begin at 7 p.m. that evening. A $25 registration fee will be charged. Cash prizes will be awarded. Winners are determined by a point system. Payouts will be given to the top five entries. Of the registration fees collected, 100 percent will be paid back as cash prizes. Hunters can work in as a team or as individuals. Predators, which will be a part of this hunt, include coyote, bobcat and fox. Check-in deadline will be Sunday, Jan. 27 at noon. During registration and check-in, the organizers will hold raffles for two predator hunting rifles: a snow camo .22-250 Savage and a .22 mag Savage. Several door prizes will also be given away.
