It’s ‘An Old-Fashioned Christmas’ at the Museum’s Christmas Tree Galleria

CASPIAN – Preparations are underway at the Iron County Museum for the 34th Annual Christmas Tree Galleria slated for Saturday, Nov. 25 through Sunday, Dec. 10.  This year’s theme is “An Old-Fashioned Christmas.”

“The Galleria is the Museum’s most important fundraiser,” explained KL Long, Museum Director, “but part of our goal is also to offer free family fun, support for our local businesses and provide opportunities for art and cultural engagement.”

Daily offerings throughout the galleria will include a display of more than 40 trees decorated by local businesses, civic groups, families and friends; a gift basket raffle with over 50 baskets and complimentary goodies. Tickets for the basket raffle can be purchased in person or online beginning Wednesday, Nov. 1 through noon on Sunday, Dec. 10.

The drawing will take place at 1 p.m. central time on Dec. 10 in the Bernhardt Cultural Center of the museum, located at 100 Brady Avenue in Caspian.

Ticket sales, a cocoa and coffee station, sweets and Christmas music will be provided daily.

Special programs to be offered this year include a Small Business Saturday event featuring on-site vendors and a list of deals and discounts being offered by local businesses on Nov. 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Family Night includes a meal of hotdogs and chips, crafts, games, photo booth and visits with Santa Claus on Nov. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m., entrance is free for adults and children must bring an item for the can-a-thon. From Nov. 28 through Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. school students and residents of assisted living facilities are scheduled to visit. A Business After Hours for Chamber Members in collaboration with the ICECA on Dec. 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A Cribbage Tournament will be held on Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. and on Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. the annual Santa Lucia Celebration will be held. 

The culmination of the event will be a Community Volunteer Recognition Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. followed by the basket raffle drawing at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10. 

The galleria will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

“We’re so grateful to all the businesses, non-profits, and individuals who make this event possible year after year. We hope our community will come out to enjoy it,” Long said.

Long also stated, “The second week of the Galleria during the day invites a leisurely time when friends and family can sit in a nice quiet atmosphere to visit and enjoy the trees, Christmas music, coffee and sweets.”
