MANSFIELD - The Mansfield Memories Committee will be hosting their annual summer ecumenical service on Thursday, July 20 at 6:30 p.m. The old pump organ will again accompany many of your favorite hymns and gospel songs. Pastor Jim Janofski of the Randville Bible Church will be the officiant.
The committee extends an open invitation to anyone who wishes to attend and hopes that they will stay for fellowship and lunch to follow the service.  No admission is ever charged to the church but there will be a free will offering to help with expenses.
Each year hundreds of people visit this unique historical log church and express their appreciation of the efforts for all of those who helped with the reconstruction and maintenance of the only church that Mansfield has ever known in its 133 year history.
Come early if you would like to tour the church and learn some of the history of this church situated near the Michigamme River in the “Old Mansfield” location.
Directions to this historical landmark are to turn off of M-69 onto the Mansfield Cut-Off Road which is approximately four miles east of Crystal Falls and about six miles west of Sagola. Travel until you reach a fork in the road and veer left onto Stream Road.  The church can be viewed from the road one-half mile later.
The church is also listed as a site on Iron County’s Heritage Trail. For more information about the service or church rental contact Sharon Nickels at 906-875-6098 or Shirley Beck at 906-875-6376.
