West Iron County Public School Patriot’s Pen 2023 Winners

IRON RIVER- The 2023 Patriot’s Pen theme was “How are you inspired by America?” The seventh and eighth grade students in Ms. Sartorelli’s ELA classes participated in the writing contest. In preparation for the assignment, students brainstormed and discussed the prompt. Although the theme was the same for all students, each student, as an individual, was required to write from his or her own perspective the significance of those words. The essay must be the author’s original work and a product of his/her own thinking. Three local winners were chosen, and the top two winners advanced to the district level. Congratulations to Seth Oberlin who placed third in the district for his essay honoring our veterans. A special thank you to Adrienne Doer, who organized the program this year.
