IRON RIVER – ‘A wonderfully fun, fantasy adventure full of twists, turns and mystical monsters. A Red Ribbon winner and highly recommended.’ The Wishing Shelf Book Awards, said.
Nightshade Forest is the author’s debut middle grade book, published in 2020, and the first book in the completed Eleanor Mason’s Literary Adventures trilogy.
The children’s books entered in the awards are judged solely by young readers. This is what they had to say about Nightshade Forest:
“This is an exciting adventure story as the hero hunts for a magic crystal to save the kingdom. There are lots of twists in the plot, and there are mythical monsters too. I think readers who like Alice in Wonderland will like this book,” said a 12 year-old girl.
“I liked how the characters worked together on the quest,” said an 11 year-old boy.
“I think this would be a good novel to enjoy over Christmas. It´s not nasty in any way, and it´s not scary. But it´s thrilling. I liked how it ended,” said a 10 year-old girl with a little help from her mom.
Nikki Mitchell is the author of Eleanor Mason’s Literary Adventures and Season of Dragons (Magic Shoebox Series, book one).
