Bass Fest marks 40 years of fun

This year marked the 40th anniversary of the Bass Fest, held July 9-11 in Crystal Falls. Put on by the Crystal Falls Lions Club, Bass Fest features numerous games, competitions and activities. Visitors and residents alike enjoyed a parade on Saturday, July 10. An afternoon of fierce competition followed that morning’s festivities — including canoe races, a 5K run, volleyball and horseshoes. The Crystal Falls Lions Club cooked up a storm, selling more than 400 chickens.
