Change for a Change

Stambaugh Elementary School students and staff participated in an effort called “Change for a Change” to bring a Feeding America truck to Iron River this year. Students and staff were asked to bring in and donate their spare change. The effort was so successful that students and staff did not need matching funds. “This was an example of people coming together and working together to try to help their neighbors,” said Stambaugh Elementary Principal Michelle Thomson. “It’s what we’ve been working on all year in our building. The kids felt really proud, and they loved seeing the big jar fill up.”  The event was held in the parking lot at Grace Covenant Church.
