Crystal Theatre’s local artist series continues Sept. 16 with Hicks with Picks, Focault Bros.

CRYSTAL FALLS — Crystal Theatre continues bringing local artists to the stage in a full concert format with this month’s Third Thursday Local series on Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. featuring Hicks With Picks and the Foucalt Brothers.

Hicks with Picks has been performing Yooperbilly covers of bluegrass, folk and rock classics since 2008. Marc Ralston is on bass, Jack Hudson and Jeff Dohl play 6-string guitar; Dohl also plays banjitar. All three “hicks” contribute vocals to the homespun harmony.

The Foucalt brother duo present an organic blend with interpretations of both old-time and contemporary songs.  On lead guitar, Roy adds a sweet vibe to his solo work.  Elder brother Paul usually takes lead on vocals while playing 6-string or “dobro” guitar.  The style fits the label “Americana,” moving from classic country to jazzy ‘40s tunes.
