CRYSTAL FALLS — The annual Forest Park Academic Boosters Pasty Sale will be on Friday, Aug. 12 during this year’s Humongous Fungus Fest.
The sale earns money to be used by the boosters to support educational activities at Forest Park throughout the school year, such as: the junior class college trip downstate, the regional and state Business Professionals of America competition, field trips for classrooms and academic clubs, and SAT testing materials.
In addition, the Academic Boosters provide funds for extra items that are requested by middle and high school teachers that are not paid for by the general fund. Our biggest event of the year is the Excellence in Education banquet, which is held to honor the Top Ten Seniors and a chosen mentor at the end of the school year. Over the last two years, the Boosters have also been hosting a bowling and pizza party for middle school and high school students that are on the honor roll.
Pasties will be available for pre-order, until Thursday, Aug. 11, by calling the school at 906-214-4695 extension 322 and leaving a message with your name, phone number and the number of pasties you want.
A limited number of pasties will also be available without a pre-order during the sale, and will be hot and ready to eat.
Pick up will be at the United Lutheran Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday Aug. 12. The cost is $6.50 per 16-ounce pasty, and the recipe has been passed down from the Alpha Church from many years ago.
