CRYSTAL FALLS – Crystal Theatre’s official 2023 Gem of a Season has concluded, but several entertaining events are still offered in this calendar year.
“We aren’t turning off the lights” says Crystal Theatre managing director Kristin Underhill. “We have more events in store for you:  movies, magic and yet more music.”
Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first film in the Indiana Jones franchise, will be shown Saturday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. Starring Harrison Ford as a fearless archeologist, the epic tale recounts his intrepid attempt to beat a band of Nazis to the religious relic.
The entertainment shifts to magic Saturday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. The Magic of Trino combines comedy with theatrical feats alongside a backdrop of popular music. Trino presents an energetic and thoroughly modern take on the ancient art of illusion. The program is sponsored in part by the Crystal Falls Business Association.
On Saturday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m., another movie comes to the Crystal Theatre screen, but magic is still in the air. The Prestige is a 2006 psychological thriller starring Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman as two rival magicians.
Finally, on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m., “Celebrate Me Home” welcomes Forest Park graduates Mark Oliverious, Paul Sundquist and Larry Ketota back to their hometown stage. Performing with the three homegrown musicians are The Nashville Hitman featuring vocalist Mia Brown.
Tickets for The Magic of Trino and “Celebrate Me Home” are available online at thecrystaltheatre.org, by phone at 906-875-3208, or in person Mon. - Fri. 9 a.m. to noon. Admission to both movies is by donation.
