IRON RIVER — The Iron County Historical Museum Society and the West Iron District Library have teamed up to celebrate National Poetry Month with a coloring/writing contest inspired by local author and famous poet, Aileen Fisher.
Kids of all ages are invited to participate in the contest by picking up an entry form and instruction sheet from the library and dropping off their entry by April 30. First-place winners will receive a free family pass to the Iron County Historical Museum and all entries will be part of a temporary exhibit. Poems and coloring sheets are focused on nature, Fisher’s favorite subject to write about.
Throughout the month, families can also browse Aileen Fisher’s writings and check out books to learn about the creative-writing process.
