FLORENCE, Wis. —The Wild Rivers Quilt Guild invites area quilters to an upcoming meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 22, beginning promptly at 5:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Florence, located at 900 Central Ave., intersection of U.S. 2 and 101 across from Pat's Foods at the west end of Florence.
The program for the evening is entitled "Sampler Quilting and Vintage Stories."  Member and author Laurie Hird will share her enthusiasm and talent for creating sampler quilts using classic quilt blocks and reproduction fabrics, woven with stories of ordinary women who lived, quilted, and thrived in the early 1900s.
Hird is the author of “The Farmer’s Wife, Sampler Quilt”.
“We are excited and proud to have Laurie speak to us and especially, to be a part of our Guild,” said a Guild member
