IRON MOUNTAIN — Older adults living in Dickinson and Iron County may qualify to receive free coupon vouchers to use at local farmers markets and roadside stands.
Senior Project FRESH/Market FRESH gives free coupon vouchers to eligible older adults to get Michigan-grown fruit, vegetables, herbs, spices and honey from farmers markets and roadside stands.  Along with the coupons, individuals will receive information on healthy eating and supplemental handouts.
To get the coupons, recipients must be at least 60 years of age, live in Dickinson or Iron counties and have a total household income of or less than 185% of the poverty level.
For example, a household of one cannot exceed $23,828 annually or $1,986 monthly.  A household of two cannot exceed $32,227 annually or $2,686 monthly.
Those interested should call Jessica Coron at 906-302-3253 prior to picking up vouchers. Coupon vouchers can be picked up at the MSU Extension Office located inside of Bay College, West Campus, Monday thru Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
