IRON RIVER — The West End Players will be holding auditions for their summer production of Our Town at 7 p.m. on June 6 and 7 in the Windsor Center Auditorium. Auditions are open to all adults and children ages 10 and up.
Those auditioning for principal and supporting roles will be expected to recite a 30-60 second monologue from the play, spoken by their anticipated character. Monologues do not have to be memorized, and printed copies of sample monologues will be available at the audition (auditioners are not restricted to choosing from the sample monologues provided, only to choosing content from the play).
If you would like to prepare your monologue in advance, sample monologues are posted to Facebook.com/WestEndPlayers.
All auditioners, including those auditioning for principal, supporting, bit part and ensemble roles, will be expected to participate in the cold reading portion of the audition process. The portions of the script that are to be used during cold reads are also posted to Facebook.com/WestEndPlayers.
Those attending auditions on June 6 and 7 will not be expected to sign up in advance. If you are unable to attend one of these dates, please email lilifmicola@gmail.com to schedule an alternative audition date. Alternative audition dates must be scheduled by May 30 and will only take place on weekday evenings the week of May 30.
Regular rehearsal dates will take place weekly, on Monday and Tuesday evenings between June 13 and August 9. If additional rehearsal dates must be added, they will be scheduled at the convenience of the cast. If you have concerns about personal scheduling conflicts within the regular rehearsal schedule, you will have the opportunity to list those conflicts on your audition form, which will be filled out upon arrival at the audition.
‘Our Town’ will be performed at the Windsor Center on August 12-14. Please email lilifmicola@gmail.com with any further questions.
