Windsor Center helps students gear up for back-to-school

The event, sponsored by the Great Start Readiness Program, was held at the Windsor Center Aug. 13 to give backpacks and school supplies to children in need. The event had a phenomenal turnout, dropping from 100 to just 25 backpacks left in an hour and a half, according to Pisoni. Great Start is a Michigan state-funded program for preschool to four-year-old children in need assistance with their education. This program is administered by the Department of Education and funding is assigned locally to each intermediate school district.
