CRYSTAL FALLS — A pair of Wisconsin residents who were arrested on drug charges on March 16 in Stambaugh Township recently pleaded guilty to one count each in Iron County Trial Court.
Eric Theodore Young, 39, of Oshkosh pleaded guilty to delivery of heroin (a 20-year felony), while Arnette Marie Jackson, 39, of Green Bay pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, less than 25 grams (a four-year felony).
Young remains incarcerated in the Iron County Correctional Facility, while Jackson was released on a personal recognizance bond.
Young also faced one count of intent to deliver less than 50 grams of cocaine (a 20-year felony), one count of maintaining a drug house (2-year high court misdemeanor) and one count of fleeing an officer (2-year felony).
Additionally, Young faced a habitual offender fourth offense notice. He has a lengthy history of drug crimes stemming back to 2004 in Outagamie, Winnebago and Brown counties in Wisconsin.
Those charges were all dropped in plea negotiations.
Jackson pleaded guilty to the lesser charge after she was initially charged with one count of intent to deliver less than 50 grams of heroin and one count of intent to deliver less than 50 grams of cocaine.
After an Upper Peninsula Enforcement Substance Team investigation, Young and Jackson were arrested after a traffic stop on M-189 south of Iron River. The two were traveling north when the stop occurred, according to UPSET report.
A search was conducted, leading to the discovery of more than $3,400 in cash as well as approximately ½ oz. of heroin and ½ oz. of crack cocaine. The drugs were packaged in a manner consistent with redistribution.
Sentencing for both defendants will be held on July 26.
