FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence County Health Department was notified of possible Covid-19 exposures at three different sites in Florence last week.
On July 20, the health department reported that an unvaccinated person, who was later confirmed positive, ate at both Barb’s Café and Annie’s Trading Post on July 10 during the person’s infectious period
On July 21, the FCHD reported that an unvaccinated person who was later confirmed positive was in Florence County and was at Pat’s Foods during their infectious period.
“The health department would like to continue to remind everyone in the community that Covid-19 cases are beginning to rise and (Covid) still poses a threat a person’s health,” FCHD public health nurse and registered sanitarian supervisor Ann Price said. “The health department recommends that those individuals that are symptomatic stay home and to contact their health care provider for further guidance. Also, those that are unvaccinated should consider getting vaccinated to decrease the potential illness and spread of the coronavirus.”
Florence County Health Officer Annette Seibold said that if, “you visited or worked at (any) of the facilities, have had close contact with someone who visited or worked at ... the facilities, and have experienced a fever, cough, or shortness of breath since July 10, 2021 after being at ... the facilities, that you contact your health care provider and inform them of a potential exposure to a confirmed case.”
The community is encouraged to stay up to date by visiting Florence County Health Facebook page, @FlorenceCountyHealthDept, florencewipublichealth.com, radio or local newspapers for continued updates and for vaccine availability.
Those interested in learning more about receiving the Covid-19 vaccine are asked to contact either Amanda or Rachael at 920-545-0042.
