Stauber elected new BOC chair

CRYSTAL FALLS — Commissioner Mark Stauber of District 3 was elected chair of the Iron County Board of Commissioners at the board’s Jan. 5 organizational meeting.
Stauber was nominated for a one-year term by outgoing chair and District 1 Commissioner Patti Peretto and elected unanimously. No other nominations were made.
District 5 Commissioner Jacob Conery was nominated as vice chair by Finance Chair and District 2 Commissioner Mike Stafford and elected through a voice vote. No other nominations were made.
Stafford was re-elected finance chair and District 4 Commissioner Jeff Ofsdahl as finance vice-chair via a voice vote. No other nominations were made.
Peretto moved to designate Steve Tinti as civil counsel, supported by Conery and passing with a voice vote. 
No commissioners stated any conflict of interest.
