Helen Hurley

CRYSTAL FALLS —Helen M. Hurley, 99, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital, Iron River.

She was born June 3, 1921, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Arvid and Helia (Korpl) Grandahl. Helen was a lifelong resident of Crystal Falls and attended Crystal Falls schools. She married Roy W Hurley in 1955. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 2010. Helen worked for the Sagola Post Office and had numerous waitressing jobs.

She enjoyed playing the lottery and listening to music. Most of all she enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.

Survivors include one son, Leo Schiavo, Crystal Falls; one daughter, Carol Pirttilampi, Crystal Falls; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to he r parents, and husband, Roy, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Lois Parkins; one brother, Reino Grandahl; one sister, Alice Williamson; one grandson, Gerry Lee Parkins; one granddaughter, Shelley Grengs; and by great-granddaughter, Storm.

Private family services will be held. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery.
