IRON RIVER — Registration packets for the new school year are now available for students entering kindergarten in the West Iron County School District. Packets may be picked up at the Stambaugh Elementary office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Children must be 5 years old by Sept. 1 to attend all-day kindergarten.
Complete enrollment packets should include:
• Students’ birth certificate
• Current immunization record or waiver
• Proof of residency (two of the following: driver’s license, lease agreement, utility bill, tax paperwork, mortgage receipt)
Hearing and vision screenings are also required for kindergarten entry.
The Dickinson-Iron Health Department will schedule appointments for those tests. Call the DIHD at 265-9913. Those without a current immunization record can make an appointment for that as well.
Questions can be addressed to Stambaugh Elementary Principal Michelle Thomson at 265-6141.
