LANSING — The MSU-Extension has announced a series of online classes available courtesy of the university’s Community, Food and Environment Institute Natural Resources Team.
The online conservation seminar series, called “Wild About Woods, Wetlands & Wildlife,” is for adults and older youth interested in personal conservation efforts for their properties. The series can also provide continuing education to Extension Master Gardeners, Michigan Conservation Stewards, Master Naturalists, and anyone interested in creating their own nature sanctuaries.
Sessions will be held every two weeks on Wednesdays, starting June 9 at noon. Each seminar will feature an MSU-Extension professional to present on a topic in their area of expertise.
Topics will cover: “Will that Grow Here” on June 9, “Wildlife Intrusions” on June 23, “Woodlot Wrangling” on July 7, “Waterwise Landscaping” on July 21, “West Coast Shoreline of Michigan” on Aug. 4, “Wave Busting” on Aug. 18, “Wetland Solutions” on Sept. 1; “Watching Wildlife” on Sept. 15 and “Wild Caught” on Sept. 29.
The cost is $5 per class or $35 for all nine sessions. Those interested can register online by visiting the MSU site at  events.anr.mus.edu/Wild_About_Woods_Wetlands_Wildlife. Questions can be directed to MSU-Extension Educator Beth Clawson at clawsonb@msu.edu.
