KINGSFORD — The Wild Rivers Invasive Species Coalition will host an invasive species Trade-Up event, where landowners can remove invasive shrubs such as Japanese barberry, exotic honeysuckle or buckthorn from their properties and bring them to WRISC to trade in for a $5 voucher (up to $50) toward a native alternative to replace the invasive.
The WRISC has partnered with two greenhouses this year who are participating in its voucher program — Chenier’s Greenhouse in Norway and Flowerland Greenhouse Inc. in Iron Mountain.
The trade-in events will take place June 18 from 9 a.m. to noon and from 3-5 p.m. and June 19 from 8 a.m. to noon.
The drop-off will be in the parking lot of the Ever After Event Center at 700 East Boulevard in Kingsford.
More information is available at wrisc.org/events or by calling 906-774-1550.
