BATES TOWNSHIP — Volunteers are needed to work on shelter construction at the future Miskwaagamiiwiziibi Park.
On July 23 and 24, volunteers will be laying cordwood walls.  Mortar mixers, cordwood movers and wall masons are needed for the process.
On July 31, “Float the Paint” will include a walk into the site to see progress on the shelter.
On Aug. 14 and 15, volunteers hope to complete the cordwood wall construction and begin roof construction.
Iron County Watershed Coalition and RiseUP Iron County are sponsoring the project, with funding from Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition.
Interested volunteers should email their RSVP to maggiescheffer@gmail.com.
