Big 4+ holds annual picnic, trap shoot

LONG LAKE, Wis. — The Big 4+ Sportsman’s Club held its annual membership picnic and trap shoot on July 17 at its clubhouse in Long Lake.
Approximately 85 people attended the event, which included more than $3,500 in raffles. The prizes included a Barnett Hypertac 420 with scope crossbow, $300 in cash, a Garmin Striker fishfinder, two $50 cash prizes and other prizes donated by area businesses and national manufacturers.
The 50-Bird Lewis Shoot had 49 entries this year and paid out five classes, with each class winning $68. Shooters were allowed two entries.  
Ties were broken by sudden-death shoot offs. The winners and their scores were: Jaden Streu (Long Lake) with 50, Curt Riege (Watertown) with 47, Brian Boelter (Shiocton)) with 44, Mel Riege (Watertown) with 43 and Robin Dorzok (Waldo) with 39.  
A consolation shoot was also held, and the winner was Sam Volkman (Black Creek) for $49.  Lewis class shooters could also play options, which paid $52 each. Ties were broken by sudden-death shoot offs. Parker Perry (Bonduel) won 25 straight on trap 1 and Bill Kramer (Lena) won 25 straight on trap 2. Jaden Streu (Long Lake) was High Gun, and Rea Dorzok (New Holstein) won the Ladies High Gun category. Numerous steak, bacon and ribs competitions were held resulting in shoot offs.
“The Big 4+ Sportsman’s Club extends their thanks to all who helped make this year’s picnic a success,” said JoAnne Smith, treasurer, “A special thanks goes to the volunteer workers and also the businesses who donated prizes and helped to sell raffle tickets.”
