CRYSTAL FALLS — Crystal Theatre has three major offerings slated for August.

To kick things off, The Tamburitzans will perform “Symbols: The Awakening” on Sunday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m.

Established over 80 years ago and based in Pittsburg, The Taburitzans use over 100 musical instruments, song and dance to showcase Croatian, Georgian, Nordic, Serbian, Polish, Italian and Bulgarian traditions and cultures.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre returns to the Crystal Theatre Aug. 16-20 to present a 5-day workshop and production of “Sleeping Beauty: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Fable.”
Auditions will be held on Monday, Aug. 16 at The Crystal Theatre. Registration will be from 9-9:45 a.m. with auditions running from 10 a.m. to noon. The first rehearsal begins approximately 30 minutes after the audition.

There is no cost for students to participate, and they must be in grades 1-12 this fall to participate.

There are roles for up to 50 students. There is no guarantee that all who audition will be cast in the play.

The performance will be held on Friday Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. at the historic Crystal Theatre, with tickets available at the door.

This month’s third Thursday performance of local artists, held Aug. 19, will focus on the piano. Erika Sauter, Gunnard Swanson and Jim Detlaff will all perform a variety of classic and current pieces, mixed in with audience interaction.
