CRYSTAL FALLS — Since May of 2021, those at Camp Batawagama have been preparing to have the camp fully functioning for the 2022 season. Programing was cancelled the past two summers due the coronavirsu pandemic.

The renovations to its dining hall, kitchen and cook-out area are near completion, according to Camp Director Brian Schulze.

These repairs, conducted over the last two summers, include replacing 14 roofs of existing cabins and tree removal. The construction of a new boys latrine in the C-section is slated to begin this fall.

“We are anxiously looking forward to the return of camp in 2022, and seeing all our campers – old and young – again,” Schulze said. “We are eager to share the traditions and long-standing programs that have become Batawagama’s trademark.”

Registration forms for band and youth camps will be available starting March 1, 2022. Those interested can request forms via email by contacting icyc@iron.org after Jan. 1, 2022.
