NMU announces grads, dean’s list

MARQUETTE — Northern Michigan University announced its graduates. 
The following local students satisfied their degree requirements in December 2021.
From Crystal Falls, Taylor Honkala earned a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice, cum laude; Valerie LaChapelle earned a bachelor of science degree in history and Avery Sommers earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in art and design, cum laude. Benjamin Haight earned a master’s degree in educational instruction. 
From Iron River, Sara Kerttu and Rylee Perry both earned  bachelor of science degrees in language arts and elementary education, magna cum laude.
The following local students qualified for the NMU dean’s list for the fall 2021 semester.
Tejai Kernats of Amasa; Carolyn Bloomburg of Crystal Falls and Christopher Anderson, Stephanie Dye, Allie Schive and Riley Stine of Iron River all earned a grade point average of 4.00.
Jillian Cain, Christopher Dalpra, Emme Emmers, Taylor Honkala, Daniel Nocerini, Dawson Ponchaud and Alina Soha of Crystal Falls; as well as Karalynn Anderson, Amya Johnson and Caden Pellizzer of Iron River all earned a grade point average of 3.50-3.99.
