Phelps to celebrate Maple Syrup Fest, April 2

PHELPS, Wis. — Phelps Maple Syrup Fest is back and will be as sweet as ever.
Maple Syrup Fest will be held at the Phelps School, 4451 Old School Road, on April 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Event goers can pick up maps and punch cards for self-guided sugarbush tours featuring four local sugarbushes where visitors can see maple syrup production in action. 
At the Fest, find delicious maple treats served by Sunrise Lodge at the Maple Café, as well as a variety of maple syrup activities for the young, and young at heart. 
Experience hands-on tree tapping and make maple taffy on the snow. Enjoy presentations and demos including, flavors of maple syrup, honey and beekeeping, and cooking with maple syrup by The Tipsy Housewife. The popular maple syrup judging contest will also take place.
Maple syrup will be sold at each sugarbush and at the Fest with $1 from each bottle going towards the Phelps Maple Syrup Fest Scholarship Fund. Completed tour punch cards will be entered into a drawing for prizes.
Phelps Maple Syrup Fest continues to grow and has attracted thousands of visitors while celebrating the heritage and history of maple syrup production in the area. The Phelps Chamber of Commerce invites local businesses to consider becoming a sponsor or volunteering a few hours on April 2. All are invited to volunteer. Volunteers are needed for a variety of rolls at Maple Fest.
