CRYSTAL FALLS — Iron County Rise-Up Indivisible delivered a Trex Deck Bench to the City of Crystal Falls. It’s located at Lincoln Park, next to the Paint River Boardwalk. This is the third bench that has been earned from the plastic film recycling program supported by the residents and visitors in Iron County.
This program is possible because of Crystal Fresh Market and the former Angeli Foods. Special bins were set up at the two stores to accept plastic film.
People can recycle plastic grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, shrink wrap, produce bags, Ziploc and food storage bags, wood pellet bags and plastic shipping envelopes. The grocery stores collect and weigh the plastic film and then send it on to their grocery distributors.
The distributors bale the plastic and load a semi that takes it to the Trex manufacturing facility where it’s recycled into environmentally responsible outdoor products.
