IRON RIVER — It’s a blast from the past as engines rev for the 44th annual Father’s Day Car Show taking place on Genesee Street from noon to 3 p.m. on June 19. The car show is sponsored by the Tractor Club.
Registration is $10 and begins at 10 a.m. The show isn’t just limited to classic cars. Tractors can also participate. There are no trophies awarded, but everyone who registers will be entered into a drawing for prizes provided by local merchants.  Fred Hauser, President of IC Classic Farm Machinary, said last year they had 30-40 prizes.
The day isn’t only for car lovers. There will be face painting, a clown and helium balloons for the children.
The Back Porch Eatery will be supplying food, with Two Dips and an Ice Cream Truck providing sweet treats.
Some of the local merchants may also be open.
The car show has come full circle since its inception. It started out on Genesee Street, then moved to the Iron County Fairgrounds and is now back on Genesee Street.
The event is non-profit, with all of the proceeds going back into the community in the form of scholarships and entertainment just to name a few. If anyone would like to make a donation or for more information, contact Fred Hauser at 262-914-2316.
