ONTONAGON – Dan Nance, representing the new owners of Hoppy’s Bar & JD’s East Branch Outfitters, Jessica & Dan Nance and John Dowd Jr., recently presented Pete Heidemann, President of the Ontonagon Valley Sportsmen’s Club (OVSC) with a donation of $750 to be used to support the youth programs and youth activities of the club.
The major portion of the funds were raised during a free Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by Hoppy’s Bar & Grill, wherein donations and tips received were dedicated towards the club’s various Youth Programs.
Heidemann thanked Jessica, Dan and John for their support and stated that the donation will be combined with other donations that the club receives from the membership to offset the costs of the club’s numerous youth events.
The club provides all equipment, supplies and safety instructors for the disciplines of archery, .22 caliber rifle, black powder and shotgun for the Camp Nesbit 6th Graders Outdoor Experience Program, the annual 5th grade “Range Day” held at the club’s new Himanka Hill Road shooting sports range facility for the students of Ewen-Trout Creek, Ontonagon and Watersmeet, and for the club’s Summer Youth Shooting Sports Program for all area youth ages 8-14.
