WIC announces spelling bee winners

IRON RIVER – West Iron County Public Schools wants to announce the spelling bee winners and runner-ups.  
Students in fifth to eighth grade participate in the spelling bee competition. The spelling bee winners in fifth to eighth  grade will be moving on to the regional competition. This year it will be held on Feb. 9 at the Gogebic-Ontonagon ISD in Bergland.
The students from West Iron County will be competing against five other school districts from the Western U.P.  This year's spelling bee winners are fifth grade - Isabella Laird, sixth grade - Shane Lucht, seventh grade - Calyn Jukkala and eighth grade - Lacey Mattson.
