CRYSTAL FALLS – On Saturday, March 18 at 10 a.m., the Crystal Falls District Community Library will host a Global Explorer Story Hour on New Mexico.
Children will learn about the Chaco Culture National Historic Park. The following books will be read: Carlos and the Squash Plant, by Jan Romero Stevens; Thunder Boy Jr., by Sherman Alexie; Welcome to Josefina’s World 1824, by Yvette La Pierre; and Abuelita’s Heart, by Amy Cordova. Children will then make their own Kachina doll which is the traditional doll made by the Hopi Indians.
There will be refreshments. All are welcome. Each child will receive a book about New Mexico to take home to add to their own personal library!
