CASPIAN – The Iron County Historical & Museum Society is getting ready for the final History Happy Hour of the 2023 Summer.
Daniel Truckey will return to shed some light and dispel some rumors on the famous disappearance of Father Rene Menard who went missing in 1661. A cold-case for the records, many theories abound as to exactly what happened.
This last History Happy Hour will be on Friday, Sept. 15 from 6 - 8 p.m. Admission and popcorn is free with drinks for purchase. There’ll be time for socializing in our vintage taproom, Toti’s Tavern, before and after the presentations, and the gift shop will be open throughout. “We are very proud of our little gift shop filled with unique items, many of which come from local authors, artists and crafts people,” states Museum Director, Kathlene (KL) Long, “We also have some new swag with U.P., museum and Toti’s Tavern logos and art. We hope folks will turn out to enjoy the presentation. We know how much our community enjoys being in Toti’s and are happy to offer this again.”
“It takes many hands to make these events and projects possible,” Long commented. “Preserving our history and inspiring the next generation to do the same is important work. Whether you contribute through monetary donations or volunteering your time, every bit makes a difference. Free events like this are our way of thanking our community for their support.”
