IRON RIVER — Adults with the bug for traveling and learning about other countries are encouraged to attend the West Iron District Library’s “Armchair Airline” program on Friday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. Attendees can enjoy an interactive presentation on the history and culture of Australia, sample foods from the country and take home a featured spice. Vanessa Warren, an Iron County resident who lived in Australia for several months, will share photos and souvenirs from her trip following the presentation.

“This is your chance to get a taste of Australia without the nearly 20-hour flight,” said Erika Sauter, Program Coordinator.

“This program is free and will include several foods imported from Down Under!” Armchair Airline is a new program series featured at the WIDL.

Sauter shared details about what attendees can expect. “This is an hour-long program that gives ‘travelers’ a taste of the culture, history, popular sites and food from that nation,” she said. “Folks will be able to take home a featured spice from Australia as well as a few recipes to try.” RSVP is appreciated for this program, but walk-ins are welcome.
