CRYSTAL FALLS – The Lady Trojans dropped their fifth game of the season against one win in a 62–34 loss to the Norway Knights on Dec. 16.
“We struggled with the pressure,” said Coach Kim Bjork. “It is difficult for us right now as we are going through some growing pains.”
After winning their first game of the season, it appeared the Lady Trojans would be competitive but thus far struggle to find their way. The team is showing moments of greatness, but the outstanding group of underclassmen are learning how difficult it can bet to compete in a faster-paced game with athletes that are more seasoned and stronger.
Forest Park fell behind 16–6 after one quarter of play and were outscored 21–2 in the second quarter, heading into halftime 37– 8. The swarming aggressive play of the Knights led to the Trojans committing 34 turnovers on the night and prevented the team from setting up quality shots.
The highlight reel for the night would include Lauren Kudwa hitting three 3-pointers for the Trojans. Kudwa has hit at least one three-pointer in every game this season. Freshman Elsie Williams contributed three steals and 12 points for the Trojans.
