CRYSTAL FALLS – Coming off an excellent volleyball run which brought the school to the state semi-finals, the Lady Trojans picked up their first win of the basketball season on Nov. 29 with a 54-24 victory over the North Central Jets.
Trojan Coach Kim Bjork, in her eighteenth year of coaching at Forest Park and her fourth year of coaching varsity basketball, is upbeat and optimistic as the year begins. “We will definitely have difficult games, but it’s always nice to get the first win of the year!”
Bjork was pleased with her team’s effort in the inaugural game, “We have a young team and are continuing to see improvement. I like their athleticism, their attitude and their willingness to work hard every day.”
With six different Trojans scoring on the night, the Trojans established a lead at the end of the first quarter 15 to 7, built a halftime lead of 31 to 9 and never looked back.
Elsie Williams led the Trojans with 16 points while Jessie Loehr and Ava Fischer both contributed 12.
