IRON RIVER – While the losses continue to pile up, Coach Nate Fales and his heroic team continue to battle through the challenges of rebuilding, the sun is peeking out from behind the clouds.
In a recent game on Jan. 17 against Houghton, which sports an 8–2 record, the Wykons scored an impressive 43 points. The team’s offense is finding its rhythm and, despite losing 79-43 made a respectable showing against an excellent team.
Led by sophomore Elijah Oberlin with 14 points, Drew Alexa who dropped in 12 and two players with six points (Daniel James and Brayden Marcell) the team’s offense is taking shape.
While the defense continues to struggle, having a potent offense with multiple scoring threats that can generate points is a necessary component to righting the ship.
