CRYSTAL FALLS — With the first two games of the season in the record books, the Forest Park Trojans are 2–0 and looking like a team on a mission.
Playing on Thursday, Aug. 31, leading into the Labor Day weekend, the Trojans second game took place on the team’s home turf against the Gogebic Miners. From the opening set of downs, the team demonstrated they had not missed a beat from the previous week, when they easily handled Stepehenson 60–0.
Senior Felix Quevedo put the Trojans on the board when he took the pitch from quarterback Nik Stephens and ran the ball 46 yards for the first of four touchdowns the Trojans would score in the first quarter. The yards piled up quickly as Gogebic was unable to stop the running game. When Coach Brian Fabbri chose to unleash Stephens, a left-handed quarterback, the result was a 79-yard touchdown pass to freshman Vic Giuliani.
With the Trojan offense firing on all cylinders and their defense on its way to the third consecutive half without an opponent scoring, the team headed into halftime with a 46–0 lead. Substituting liberally in the second half, Fabbri kept the score under control.
The Trojans had a total of 45 plays in the game and garnered 470 yards of offense for an average play of over 10  yards. Stephens scored both a running and passing touchdown and the stingy Trojan defense surrendered only 124 total offensive yards.
When the final seconds ticked off the clock the Trojans claimed their second victory, 46–8. In the first two games of the season, they  have outscored their opponents by a combined score of 106–8.
