IRON RIVER
10:00 am Parade: Registration starts at 8 am behind the high school. The Westside Veterans Council 4th of July Independence Day Parade will step off from the West Iron County High School parking lot. The parade will be led by the Westside Veterans Council Honor Guard followed by Parade Marshall, Jim Brennan next by WWII Veteran Art Aregoni. (All veterans are asked to report to the staging area at the high school at 9:30 am to ride on the designated floats.) 
The route will continue down Washington Street to Genesee Street then West on Genesee Street to 7th Street where it will disburse.
The categories are as follows: adult organizations, nonprofit organizations, municipalities, commercial/industrial, youth organizations, horses, non-motorized decorated bikes, farm tractors, comic, and classic and antique vehicles.
-Bike-Decorating:  Take home kits will be available for pick-up at the library Thursday, June 29 through Monday, July 3. Supplies provided are for children to decorate their bikes for entry into the parade. One kit per child.
-All veterans are invited to ride the West Side Veterans Council-sponsored trailer. Interested parties can contact Richard Weatherholt at 906-284-0078.
-Immediately following the Parade, the West Iron Co. Fire Dept. at 640 N 9th Ave. will have fun for the whole family: free ice cream, kids races, and a watermelon eating contest.
-American Legion Reino Post 21 Breakfast will be hosted on Sunday July 2 from 8 - 11 am. Hot dogs and brats will be served on July 4 from 10 - 2 pm, in front of the Washington Avenue Post.
VFW Post 3134 - will be cooking on the deck
Fireworks at Dusk (about 10 pm)

9 am - Sing-along Mass at Christ Methodist Church
10 am - Flag Raising at the Joe Mechon Park, followed by the Albenio Webber Scholarship Award presentation.
11 am: Food-Brats & Hot dogs Supports Albenio Webber Scholarship

9 am: Flag Raising
-by East Side Veterans at village circle, followed by the Forest Park High School Trojan band’s rendition of the National Anthem
-“The Voice of the North” Adam Stender to MC
9 – 11 am: Bloody Mary, Mimosa Bar & Breakfast Treats
10 am: “Summer in the UP Parade”
- Kids bike and car decorating area at the pavilion, line up begins at 9am
-Following the parade will be Carmel Corn & Ice Cream at the Village Hall courtesy of the Alpha-Mastadon Fire Department
11 am: Kids Games Relays, Coin toss, Watermelon eating contest
12 Noon Yooper Kiddo Land
Dunk tanks, Bounce & Obstacle Houses, Face Painting, Games & Prizes
