IRON COUNTY - May 27 marked the 156th National Memorial Day Observance, which recognizes and commemorates the fallen men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Memorial Day ceremonies, tributes and parades took place at locations across Iron County including Crystal Falls at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery; downtown Amasa and at the Hematite Township Cemetery; Bates Township Cemetery; Beechwood at Rosehill Cemetery and in Iron River at the Veterans Memorial, Resthaven Cemetery and the Stambaugh Township Cemetery.
