SUN CITY, Ariz. — It is with great sadness that the family of Marvin LaVacque, 76, announces his unexpected passing on June 6, 2020.

Marv accomplished a lot in his life. He received a Master’s Degree in Education from Northern Michigan University. He spent 15 years teaching and working in community schools for the West Iron County School system in Iron River. Marv was multifaceted and chose to move into the world of retail, owning and operating several small businesses in Gwinn and Colorado Springs, Colo. After retiring in 2006, he moved to Grand Junction, Colo. to enjoy watching his grandchildren grow up. Most recently, he moved to Sun City to be able to continue his active lifestyle. Marv was a people person. He served on two boards in Arizona and accumulated a multitude of friends. He will be missed by many.

Marv is survived by Sue (Schinella), his wife of 53 years;his daughter, Nicole (Chris) Pinneo of Grand Junction; his sonJared LaVacque of Anchorage, Alaska; two grandchildren, EmilyPinneo and Ryan Pinneo of Grand Junction; a brother, Robert(Donna) LaVacque of Amasa; a sister, Beverly Przybylski of St.Petersburg, Fla.; and several nephews and nieces.

Marv’s parents, Joseph and Catherine LaVacque, and brotherKenneth (Jackie) LaVacque preceded him in death.

Closed funeral services for the family were held at Best Funeral Services West Valley Chapel in Peoria, Ariz. on June 12.
