CRYSTAL FALLS — In the first matchup between the Forest Park boys basketball team and Bark River-Harris, the Broncos had their way with the Trojans in a 25-point win on Feb. 19 in Crystal Falls.
The rematch was much different as FP held a lead heading into the fourth quarter but saw BR-H mount a comeback to earn a 45-40 win in Harris.
The Broncos outscored the Trojans 10-2 in the final quarter to notch the win.
“It was a hard-fought battle and we just couldn’t quite find a way to score down the stretch,” FP coach Kurt Lehmann said. “Everyone played hard and I’m proud of the way they battled but we need to find a way to win some of these close ones.”
The senior duo of Tommy Showers and Keall Emmers led the Trojans’ effort. Showers finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Emmers also had a fine all-around game with 14 points, five assists and five steals.
With the defeat, Forest Park dropped to 2-7 heading into its final four games of the regular season.
