FP middle school hoops teams wind up

CRYSTAL FALLS — Both Forest Park middle school boys teams recently completed winning seasons.
The Trojan eighth- and seventh-grade squads finished 4-3, coach Kurt Anderson said.
In its final game, the Trojans’ eighth grade team lost a 26-24 nail biter to Iron Mountain. Kevin Giuliani led FP with 10 points and Gabe Quevedo chipped in with eight.
The seventh graders defeated the Mountaineers 39-15, powered by 25 points from Vic Giuliani.
In other games, the Trojans swept West Iron, split with Norway and dropped a pair of games to Kingsford. Against the Wykons, the FP eighth graders defeated the Wykons 38-13, led by Kevin Guiliani’s 12 points and Matthew Showers’ 10. Elijah Oberlin topped West Iron with 11. FP also took the seventh-grade game 26-18. Vic Giuliani paced FP with 12, while Ethan Andler led WIC with 16.
The Trojans’ eight graders upended Norway 38-29 as Quevedo lead the way with 11. FP dropped the seventh-grade contest 18-15. Vic Giuliani scored eight and Izaiah Tarter totaled seven.
Against Kingsford, Kevin Giuliani recorded 19 points in FP’s 49-34 defeat to the Flivvers in the eighth-grade matchup. Vic Giuliani scored six points in the Trojans’ 29-16 loss in the seventh-grade game.
