Big 4+ holds annual membership picnic

LONG LAKE, Wis. — The Big 4+ Sportsman’s Club held their annual membership picnic under beautiful skies at their clubhouse in Long Lake on Saturday, July 16th.  About 80 people turned out to enjoy a day of trap shooting, over $5,000 in raffles and good food.
Winners of the Big 4+’s annual raffle were drawn at 4 p.m.  Numerous other prizes donated by area businesses and national manufacturers were also raffled off throughout the day.
    The 50-Bird Lewis Shoot had 40 entries this year and paid out 5 classes, with each class winning $56.  Shooters were allowed unlimited entries.  Ties were broken by sudden-death shoot offs. The winners and their scores were: Jeremy Streu (Long Lake) with 49, Jaden Streu (Long Lake) with 47, Harry Welhouse (Two Rivers, Wis.) with 46, Ricky Olinger with a 43, and JoAnne Smith (Tipler, Wis.) with 40.  
A consolation shoot was also held, the winner was Paul Myers (West Bend, Wis.) for $40.  Lewis class shooters could also play options, which paid $72 each. 
Ties were broken by sudden-death shoot offs. Jaden Streu (Long Lake) won 25 straight on trap 1 and Robert Baker (Pennsylvania) won 25 straight on trap 2.  Jeremy Streu (Long Lake) was High Gun with a 49, and Rea Dorzok (New Holstein, Wis.) won the Ladies High Gun category with a 44.  Numerous steak, bacon and ribs competitions were held resulting in spirited shoot offs.
The Big 4+ Sportsman’s Club extends their thanks to all who helped make this year’s picnic a success. A special thanks goes to the volunteer workers and the businesses who donated prizes and help to sell raffle tickets.
