Sagola Township Sportsmen’s Club announce winners of Tip Up Town

SAGOLA – Anglers from as far away as Green Bay, Wisconsin and even Pennsylvania attended the annual event. 
Youth were awarded fishing gear prizes for first place through fifth place in five different fishing categories. Adults were awarded cash prizes for first through third place in the same five fishing categories. Sagola Club members operated the kitchen for meals for the over 150 anglers in attendance throughout the day. 
In the youth category of northern pike, Jason Harwath caught the fifth-place fish. Miles Holsworth took fourth place and the second-place award. Jack Holsworth came in with third place. Sammy Caruso won the first-place trophy with his 31” northern pike. 
In the youth category for bluegill, it was Bo Glasheen catching the fifth-place fish. Jordan Bray came in with fourth place and third place. Earning the second-place spot was Ella Alessandroni. Winning the first-place trophy with his 9 1/2” bluegill was Jason Harwath. 
In the perch category, Jason Harwath caught the fourth-and second-place fish. Third-place perch was caught by Ella Alessandroni. Registering the winning perch at a length of 10” was Noah Miller. 
In the crappie category, Quentin Deau came in fifth place. Cash Raikes earned fourth place with his crappie. Coming in third place was C.J. Morgan. Jason Harwath earned yet another spot on the winner’s board. This time he took home second place with his crappie. Trevor Larson took home top honors in the category with his 10 1/2” crappie. No youth registered any walleye for the day. 
The adult category of crappie had Tim VanKlompenberg earning third place. Coming in second was April Harwath. Catching the first-place 12 1/2” crappie and taking home top honors for the crappie category was Shakur Bocek of Crystal Falls.
In the northern pike category, Mitzi Metzler registered the third-place fish. Carl Hodges catches the second-place fish. Brent Sparks caught the first-place 31 1/2” northern pike. 
In the bluegill category, Ryan Miller earned third place. Mel Slenkiewicz took second place. Registering her 9 1/2” bluegill and taking first place was April Harwath.
The adult perch category had Nick Harwath catching the third-place fish and the second-place fish. Earning top honors in the category with his 8 1/4” perch was Fernando Calzola. 
The only walleye registered for the tournament was caught by Andrew Hartwig. His 23” walleye was enough to take first in the adult category.
