IRON RIVER — The West Iron District Library (WIDL) will host the second in its series “Ask Me Anything” on Feb. 28 at 3:30 p.m., featuring a special presentation from Carl Fitzpatrick, president of the Northwood Geology Club.
Fitzpatrick will display a portion of his collection and talk about rock tumbling, fossils and geology unique to the Upper Peninsula. A time of question and answer where attendees can “Ask Me Anything” will follow.
“The Ask Me Anything programs are meant to be interesting and fun for children as well as adults,” explained Erika Sauter, Program Coordinator. “We hope folks will come and learn about the fascinating world of geology and maybe pick up a new hobby to do with your children or grandchildren.”
The Ask Me Anything series started in January featuring Fred and Linda Hauser who gave a Beekeeping 101 presentation. The series will continue through May and the schedule includes a program on frogs and toads and a presentation from a wildlife biologist. The idea is that community members can get an introduction to interesting hobbies and careers, learning from experts who do a show and tell, followed by a question and answer. Admission is free and refreshments are provided.
