FLORENCE, WIS. - It’s time for the Florence County Historical Society’s Annual Quilt Show and Strawberry Social. Make your plans now to see the beautiful array of quilts that will be on display at Maxsell’s Suites and Celebrations, located on US-2/209 Central Avenue, on Saturday, July 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no charge to view the quilts. The old fashioned strawberry social will offer strawberry shortcake and beveragses.
Those interested in a tour led by Rachel Egelseer of the interior of the beautifully restored Prairie style home can do so during the hours of the quilt show. Would you like to win a beautiful quilted lap throw, made and donated by quilter Joan Spears and long-armed by Patti Wabitsch, the quilt is first prize in the Historical Society’s annual fundraising raffle. Other prizes include a hand-crafted rug made by Pattie Gehlhoff, quilted handbag made by Donnette Salczenko, pizza paddle made by Matt Dagostino and engraved glass cups/cutting board made by Mary Brunette. Raffle tickets will be available at the quilt show. The raffle drawing will be held Sept. 1. Winners are expected to pick up their prizes at the Museum.
